The musician

Emerson is a freelance musician in Brazilian jazz, working as a pianist, composer and arranger. He holds a music degree from UEMG (Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais) and also teaches piano and harmony.

His brief asked for a simple, direct logo representing the instrument he loves and works with: the piano.

The piano in the name

I built a logotype from his first and last name, working piano keys into the letters E, which ties the lettering directly to his instrument.
